TechCrunch Discussion with Chromia

Annotation of TechCrunch Discussion with Or Perelman (COO Chromia) On the Topic:

Chromaway Created A New Blockchain Protocol to Solve Integration to Legacy Systems.

OR PERELMAN

Basically, we created a new blockchain protocol from the scratch to solve integration to legacy system problem, usability and also scalability issues, to enable new kind of enterprise dapps.

JON SHEIBER

Why does anyone need all that when the old applications are still not adopted?

OR PERELMAN

It is not only about scaling; they are not being adopted because there are some main issues:

1.      Integration to legacy system

2.      Usability

So basically, we are working with a lot of enterprise customers, combining the relational and data bases with blockchain into one, this has never been done before. For enterprise, it is very easy to integrate because they have relational and data bases, for developers, it is very easy to develop on top because they don’t have to learn solidity or use another different layer or whatever it is. They can just index the blockchain in a native way

JON SHEIBER

What is the “Killer D app” that your platform will enable that others wouldn’t?

OR PERELMAN

Well, games for example, So not only tokens. We can support much more complex features onchain, we can literarily host the entire game world onchain. For the enterprises right now, we are getting traction in the space, we built a very big consortium in Sweden. For private chain side, we can do much more than just tokens through games.

JON SHEIBER

How are you funding the development of this new protocol?

OR PERELMAN

We had private token sale and equity with some big investors.

JON SHEIBER

Who are some of this big investors and company?

OR PERELMAN

One of our very good investors is NEO GLOBAL CAPITAL(NGC) etc..

JON SHEIBER

How many people are using the protocol right now?

OR PERELMAN

Since we started marketing heavily, we have seen a lot of customers, enterprise wise, we have over 20 which include Tech Mahindra, IDM etc.

JON SHEIBER

Thank you very much, I appreciate the time.
